We're coming down the home stretch in the 2013 high school cross country season and all eyes are on seven-time girls' national champs Fayetteville-Manlius (New York). The big question about F-M - can they make it eight straight?
Early in the season after some not so usual loses, many thought that the end of the streak was on the horizon. However, now as we approach the 2013 Nike Cross Nationals, it looks like F-M is ready to defend, as you can read from XCnation.com Editor-in-Chief David Taylor. Recently, F-M won another New York state championship and currently it's ranked #2 in the latest XCnation.com rankings.

For a while it looked like no team wanted to hang-on to the top spot in the the XCNation.com Boys' High School Cross Country Top 25, but that all changed this week as York High School (Illinois) was able to hold-on to the top spot.
York, coached by legendary cross country coach Joe Newton, remained #1 in the latest Power Rankings that are released every two weeks. For those of you don't know about Coach Newton - he's 84 years old and has led York to 28 Illinois state cross country championships.
Several years ago, a documentary about Coach Newton and his program was made. You can view the trailer to The Long Green Mile above.
Newton was been named the NHSCA's National Boys' Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2003.
Arcadia from California moves up a notch to #2, while preseason #1 Christian Brothers Academy from New Jersey dropped a spot to #3.

If you listened to our interviews with XCnation.com co-founder David Taylor throughout the 2012 season, you know that it was one of the best ever.
Today we take a look at the final team and individual rankings from XCnation.
Arcadia High (California) is the boys' Division I national champs while Perham High School (Minnesota) takes the Division II title.
On the girls' side of the equation, we have a split title with Fayetteville Manlius (New York) grabbing a share of the Division I title with Birmingham Seaholm (Michigan). Fayetteville Manlius has now won or shared seven straight national championships. Another New York school, East Aurora, wins the Division II national championship.

We're coming down the home stretch of the high school cross country season, but there's still a lot of running to take place with nationals down the road.
All season long, XCnation.com's David Taylor has been keeping us up-to-date with the ever-changing XC landscape in what is probably been the best ever high school cross country season.
The biggest changes to XCnation.com's Super 50 is on the girls' side where there's a new #1.
Birmingham Seaholm takes-over the top spot with a perfect power ranking after beating former #1 Grosse Pointe South in the Michigan Division 1 championship.
With Seaholm's move to the top and six-time defending national champ Fayetteville-Manlius falling to #4, it's possible the Hornets streak of national titles may be coming to an end.
Below are the Top 10 teams for boys and girls, but please go to XCnation.com for the entire Super 50, plus individual rankings.
