The National High School Coaches Association has announced that the
Silver Anniversary Edition of the National High School Wrestling Championships
in Virginia Beach, Virginia on March 27-30, 2014 will once again feature
top-notch clinics taught be some of the best coaches in America. The 25th annual NHSCA
National High School Wrestling Championships feature five divisions of
competition that will be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
The clinics get
started Thursday night, March 27th with 2012 USA Olympic Team member
Jake Herbert, who is a 2-time NCAA
champ and 4-time All-American at Northwestern. Herbert, who finished runner-up in 2003 at the NHSCA Senior
Nationals, won a silver medal at the 2009 World Championships. Cliff Keen sponsors the Herbert clinic.
There will be
three clinics on Friday, two with college coaches – Teague Moore, head coach at American University and Kevin Dresser, head coach at Virginia
Tech. Moore, who was a 1996 NHSCA
Senior National Champ, was a 2-time NCAA national champ at Oklahoma State. Dresser was a NCAA champ and 2-time
All-American during his career at Iowa. Our third clinic on Friday will feature
Damion Logan, Michigan’s 2-time NCAA
champ, who is the founder of the Apex Wrestling School.
On Saturday,
3-time World Champ Gene Mills will
host a clinic. Mills, who is the
head coach at Pin 2 Win, won two NCAA titles at Syracuse. Later on Saturday, 2014 NHSCA Coach of
the Year Dave Dean of Lowell High
School in Michigan will put-on a clinic.
Dean was a 2-time NCAA All-American at Minnesota that included a
national runner-up finish.
The
action-packed weekend ends off the mat with our College Recruiting Fair from 3
P.M. to 5 P.M.
